Investigations Episode 2: Discussing Book Recommendations For Beginners
Since due to the recent pandemic crisis, everyone is stuck at home and need something to keep themselves busy. I am happy that many people want to read a book, something that would not bore them and they would be ready to pick another.
Here are some books that you would enjoy during the quarantine period, so stay home and stay safe
- To kill a Mockingbird
Harper Lee’s to kill a mockingbird is one of the popular books in the world. Scout Finch lives with her father and brother in a black neighbourhood and the little kid finds out how society is divided into two on the basis of colour. Her father Atticus, who is a lawyer is defending a black person and faces many criticisms and a threat to his life.
- A thousand splendid suns
Khaled Hosseini’s books are a treasure for the readers. It was Khaled Hosseini’s “Kite Runner” that charmed me into reading more books. A thousand splendid suns is a story set in Afghanistan, war-stricken area and how two women from two different centuries struggle and fight against the male dominancy. I would say it’s a masterpiece and is a striking, heart-wrenching novel of an unforgiving time, an unlikely friendship, and an indestructible love—a stunning accomplishment. Pick any book of this author, he is too good.
- To all the boys I’ve ever loved before
If you are a kind of person, who loves contemporary romance, then this is for you. This novel has recently been filmed and loved all across the globe. The story of Lara Jean, who writes letters to her crushes but never actually post them. One day, by accident her letters get posted and life takes a new romantic turn. It’s light and fluffy kind of read.
- The diary of a young girl
Who doesn’t know the tragic story of Anne Frank? Her family was hiding for two years during Nazi oppression. Anne Frank kept a diary in which she penned down the oppression and the cruelty of the Nazis. It’s heartbreaking and will give you an ugly cry.
- Eleanor and Park
I am a fan of Rainbow Rowel’s books. This book just swept me off my feet, it’s a beautiful love story. Eleanor is a new girl in town, with bright red hair. She is having an abusive relationship with her father. Park is a boy who doesn’t like to talk much. He is very much involved in music and comics. The story of the two begins in a school bus when Park shares his comics and music with Eleanor and both come closer and closer. The best part is the ending and for that, you have to read it. Rainbow Rowel’s writing is magic, it goes straight to your heart. I also suggest reading Fangirl by Rainbow Rowel.
